"I LOVE THE CREATIVE PROCESS. ART IS A JOURNEY, AN EXPRESSION OF THE HUMAN SOUL."
Aaron attended Denver School of the Arts where he focused on sculpture, painting, graphic design, video production and audio engineering. He continued his education at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, Colorado Film School and Metro State University of Denver.

He is the son of internationally acclaimed artist Martin Mendelsberg and credits his father for the inspiration to purse his own talents at a young age. Aaron is fascinated with Hebrew letter forms and practices calligraphy regularly with the goal of one day becoming a scribe.

Aaron is proficient with the computer for digital art and design, however he prefers to get his hands dirty with ink and paint to create his pieces. Clients have hired Aaron to produce murals, ketubas (Jewish wedding contracts), custom painted furniture, invitations and other works of art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My practice communicates authentic self-expression and the maturation of my soul. I explore raw emotions, spirituality, define personal truths, confront traumatic events, and embrace my multicultural traditions through vigorous introspection and shared experiences with others.

I blend spray paint, acrylic, liquid chalk and ink to create bright, colorful paintings that focus on Hebrew lettering, the power of manifestation through words that inspire action, and the beauty of nature. My sculptures are constructed from various repurposed found objects, paired with deeply personal items that transform into cohesive, thought provoking arrangements.

I encourage raw materials to breathe, evolve and take on new lives’ of their own. I merely observe and facilitate the creative process as a curious, active participant. I spontaneously select each element then methodically organize them to create a sense of harmonic balance and/or uncomfortable discord. My process can be described as controlled chaos, a semi-haphazard practice similar to that of an amateur chemist working in a clandestine lab with rudimentary tools. Once I discover a technique that produces a desired outcome, I refine and utilize it in the final rendition of a project.

My aesthetic covers a broad range of diverse styles as plasticity and improvisation are at the core of my practice. Some pieces appear as definitive, familiar figures that leave little room for interpretation. Conversely, I produce loose, informal, abstract artwork that challenges viewers to define their own sense of purpose and beckons them to foster a personal connection with me as the artist.

My artwork tells important personal stories about the world as experienced through my own unique lens of perception. I am on a mission to connect humanity through art with a sincere desire to inspire others to embrace creativity and practice limitless self-expression.
